Marine Corps Engineers Conduct Route Clearing Operations in Adak

Combining the assets of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps team, amphibious operations allowed Engineers with Combat Logistics Battalion 15 (CLB-15) to bring ashore heavy equipment to clear a path for personnel and vehicles on the beaches of Adak, Alaska on Sept. 18, 2019. The training proved the concept of being able to provide support in challenging terrain and climates. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participated in Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE), a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Artic region and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
