a 14-day, 1,200-kilometer bicycle journey around Japan's Shikoku island
U.S. Army Garrison - Japan
Nov. 8, 2021 | 10:12
Jim McGee, chief of the U.S. Army Garrison Japan Visual Information Division and an avid cyclist, recently completed a 14-day, 1,200-kilometer bicycle journey around Japan's Shikoku island, located about 725 kilometers southwest of Camp Zama.
During his trip, McGee said he experienced a diverse amount of Japanese culture, took in some breathtaking scenery, and met several kind locals and visiting travelers.
McGee spoke about why he wanted to take this trip, and what it is about long-distance cycling that draws him to the pastime. This is his story.
