Kathy Hochul, the New York National Guard deployed two Chinook helicopters and 11 Soldiers to help the Florida National Guard respond to the destruction caused by Hurricane Ian.

Virginia National Guard Prepared for Possible Severe Weather

Unit Featured: United Nations Command Security Battalion

In August of 1976, two United Nations Command Soldiers were murdered in the Joint Security Area. As what should have been an act of routine maintenance, turned deadly, US Forces in Korea went to DEFCON 3, and tension between North and South Korea reached one of its highest peaks.
Every year, United Nations Command Security Battalion holds a memorial service to honor the two killed by North Korean soldiers during the fight leading to Operation Paul Bunyan.
