Hueys Continue Nepal Mission Despite Crash (Without Titles)
III Marine Expeditionary Force
Dec. 13, 1901 | 2:18
During Operation Sahayogi Haat "Helping Hand" Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469, currently with Joint Task Force 505, has delivered over 40 tons of relief to the Nepalese people. Despite the tragic loss of an aircraft with six Marines and two Nepalese soldiers, the Marines continued to complete the mission. The Nepalese government requested assistance from U.S. Agency for International Development after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck their country April 25. The U.S. troops are part of JTF 505 in Nepal, which works in conjunction with USAID and the international community to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.
