National Guard August 2026 SITREP

The National Guard delivered for the nation throughout August, supporting communities at home, strengthening combat readiness, and reinforcing partnerships around the world. Guard members responded to wildfires across the West, providing aviation support and ground firefighting capabilities, while thousands of service members trained during Northern Strike 26-2 in Michigan to enhance joint and allied readiness. Overseas, Guard members trained alongside international partners during exercises Pahlawan Warrior 26 and PANAMAX 2026, while more than 160 Delaware Air National Guard Airmen deployed in support of operations abroad. In Alaska, Guard members deployed their search-and-rescue capabilities to rescue a pilot after a plane crash. These efforts demonstrate the continued commitment of the National Guard's 435,000 Soldiers and Airmen to serve their communities, states, and nation. Video by Sgt. 1st Class Amber Peck.
