Minnesota National Guard joins British marines, Polish soldiers for Saber Strike 17

A combined forces squad featuring members of the Minnesota Army National Guard's 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, British Royal Marines and Polish soldiers transport a simulated casualty to an HH-60M Black Hawk helicopter after a ground assault exercise transitioned into a medical evacuation exercise near Sventezeris, Lithuania, June 18, 2017. The training was part of Exercise Saber Strike 17, a U.S. Army Europe-led training exercise in the Baltic region. The exercise tests the capability of multiple nations to act against a threat.

29th Infantry Division Soldiers earn coveted German award

U.S. Soldiers competed to earn the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge in a series of timed events at Camp Arifjan and Camp Beuhring, Kuwait, April 28-30, 2017. Events included:  swimming in uniform, treading water, shuttle sprints from a prone position, track run, flexed arm hang, ruck march and pistol marksmanship. Based on performance, Soldiers could earn the badge in bronze, silver or gold and are entitled to wear the award on their dress uniform.
