MAJOR GENERAL ROBERT G. KILGORE

Maj. Gen. Robert G. Kilgore is the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. General Kilgore is the senior advisor to the commander for Air National Guard matters and is responsible for assisting the commander in running the day-to-day operations of AETC which includes Air Force Recruiting Service, two Numbered Air Forces and Air University. The command operates more than 1,400 trainer, fighter and mobility aircraft, 23 wings, 10 bases and five geographically separated groups. It trains more than 293,000 students per year with approximately 60,000 active duty, Reserve, Guard, civilian and contractor personnel.

General Kilgore earned his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 1988 and earned a Masters Degree in Managerial Economics from the University of Oklahoma in 1999. Following Undergraduate Pilot Training in 1989, he completed follow-on training in the KC-135R. General Kilgore served on active duty for over nine years flying the KC-135R at Altus Air Force Base, Okla. and Kadena Air Base, Japan. He joined the New York Air National Guard in 1997 and served as an Instructor and Evaluator Pilot. General Kilgore has commanded at the squadron and group level and was Commander, 107th Attack Wing. A combat veteran, he has served in Operation DESERT STORM, DESERT SHIELD, DESERT STRIKE, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, ENDURING FREEDOM, FREEDOM'S SENTINEL, and INHERENT RESOLVE. General Kilgore has deployed as an Operations Officer, Detachment Commander, and as Deputy Operations Group Commander, Joint Base Balad, Iraq. He is a Command Pilot with over 4,900 hours in the KC-135R, C-130H2, C-130E, T-37B and MQ-9. Prior to his current assignment, General Kilgore was the Chief of Staff, NY Air National Guard, Joint Force Headquarters, Latham, N.Y. as well as the Air National Guard Assistant to the Director of Operations, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFARICA/A3).
