BRIGADIER GENERAL MICHAEL L. SEELY

Retired effective November 11, 2001

Brigadier General Michael Seely assumed command of the more than 9,000 soldiers of the Georgia Army National Guard on November 29, 1999. As Commander, he is responsible for the training and readiness of two MACOMs, the 48th eSB and the 78th Troop Command.

The General's active military career began in 1961 when he enlisted in the Regular Army and served with the 8th ID USAEUR. He was commissioned in 1964 after graduating from the Field Artillery Officer Candidate School. Prior to this assignment, BG Seely had served as the Commander, 78th Troop Command.
