Major
General Juan A. Garcia is assigned as assistant to the director, Air National
Guard (ANG), for human resources readiness, Arlington, Va. He is responsible
for assisting and advising the director on all human resource issues. In this
capacity, he serves as the chair of the Human Relations Quality Board and advisor
to the ANG Committee of Advisors. The input has major impact on force preparedness
and meeting the defense challenges of tomorrow.
The general received his commission through Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Puerto Rico in June 1967. During the first years of his career, he started to develop his expertise in the field of supply and logistics. In 1995 he was reassigned to Headquarters and was designated as director of the support section. His knowledge and expertise were instrumental in setting quality standards of performance in all areas of responsibility. General Garcia's undivided attention and commitment were noteworthy during the transition period of the unit's conversion from the F-16 to the C-130 aircraft.
