BRIGADIER GENERAL JEFFREY P. LYON

Brigadier General Jeffrey P. Lyon is chief of staff of the Vermont Air National Guard. In that capacity, he serves the adjutant general of Vermont along with the assistant adjutant general for air as a key advisor on issues related to strength, succession management, unit readiness, and personnel policies. General Lyon is the headquarters commander and oversees all operational activities of the headquarters and all headquarters staff agencies.

The general began his military career by receiving a commission as a Distinguished Graduate of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps from Norwich University in 1972. He spent seven years on active duty as a supply operations officer in four major air commands performing logistics and supply support. He completed four assignments within the continental United States with his final tour as chief of distribution operations at Osan Air Base, Korea. He joined the Vermont Air National Guard in 1979 and has held positions of ever increasing responsibility at the wing and headquarters level including a three-year tour as commander of the 158Th Logistics Squadron.
