MAJOR GENERAL JOSEPH K. SIMEONE
Major General Joseph K. Simeone is the Air National Guard assistant to the commander, Air Mobility Command (AMC), Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
As the ANG assistant to the commander AMC, he is responsible for advising him and the staff on all issues impacting the ANG and provides administrative oversight of assigned ANG personnel.
He ensures requirements and coordination for AMC-gained ANG units are included in the planning, programming, and execution phases of the AMC mission elements.
The general was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve on February 1965 after completion of undergraduate navigator training at James Connally Air Force Base, Texas.
He was awarded the aeronautical rating of navigator in April 1966 and was assigned to the 34th Air Refueling Squadron at Pease Air Force Base,
N.H. While serving on extended active duty, he participated in Arc Light and Young Tiger deployments, completing over 580 hours of combat time in the Southeast Asian Theater.
