MAJOR GENERAL GARY A. QUICK

 

Commander, 62nd Troop Command

Major General Quick was assigned as the Commander, 62nd Troop Command, Alabama Army National Guard, 7 October 2005. As Commander, 62nd Troop Command, he provides command and control for one Engineer Group consisting of three Engineer Battalions. Additionally, he provides command and control for one Troop Support Command consisting of two Field Artillery Battalions (MLRS), one Infantry Battalion (Mechanized), one Armor Battalion, one Forward Support Battalion, and one Brigade Recon Troop. Major General Quick commanded Joint Task Force Alabama which deployed to Mississippi and provided Military Support to Civil Authority. He is responsible for effectively using available resources to produce mission capable units that can mobilize, deploy, and execute their assigned mission.

Major General Quick was commissioned as an Armor Officer on 14 June 1972 following Officer Candidate School. Prior to assuming command of 62nd Troop Command, Major General Quick served as the Director of Mobilization for the United States Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) at Fort McPherson, GA and Acting Commander 62nd Troop Command.
