MAJOR GENERAL WILLIAM N. SEARCY
Major
General William N. Searcy is the assistant adjutant general, Georgia Air National
Guard, Marietta, Georgia. As assistant adjutant general for air, he represents
the Governor and the adjutant general of Georgia, as the principal advisor on
matters pertaining to the Georgia Air National Guard. He also serves as
the commander of Headquarters, Georgia Air National Guard, and has command and
control responsibility of all Air National Guard units in Georgia. He
is responsible to the adjutant general of Georgia for the overall management
of the flying units within the state.
The general began his military career when he received a direct commission as a second lieutenant in 1968.
He served in several positions to include chief, airlift command post, operations group commander, and director of operations prior to assuming the position of wing commander of the 165th Airlift Wing.
He is a command pilot with more than 3,500 flying hours.
