General Robert O. Seifert is the chief of staff, Headquarters Virginia Air National Guard, based at Richmond International Airport, Sandston, Va. As chief of staff, General Seifert is responsible for the headquarters element of the Virginia Air National Guard.
General Seifert entered the Air Force in September of 1967 and earned a commission from Officer Training School at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is a command pilot with over 5,000 flying hours including 54 combat hours.
In 1993, General Seifert was tasked to lead a four-unit deployment to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, in support of operation Provide Comfort. As operations commander he also deployed to Aviano Air Base, Italy, in support of operation Decisive Endeavor in 1996, employing the unit's newly acquired reconnaissance capability.
