BRIGADIER GENERAL WILLIAM L. WALLER, JR.

Commander, 66TH Troop Command

Brigadier General William L. Waller, Jr. was appointed commander of 66th Troop Command, Mississippi Army National Guard in February 2000. As commander, he guides the formulation, development, training and implementation of all programs and policies affecting the 66th Troop Command's 2457 citizen soldiers.

The General's military service began in 1974, when he was commissioned a second lieutenant by Mississippi State University's Reserve Officer Training Corps, and recognized as a distinguished military graduate. Prior to this assignment, General Waller served as Commander of the 2nd Battalion, 198th Armor, Squadron Commander, 1st Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment, and most recently as Deputy Commander of 66th Troop Command, Mississippi Army National Guard.
