BRIGADIER GENERAL DION P. LAWRENCE


Commander, 260th Military Police Command

Brigadier General Lawrence assumed duties as Commander, 260th Military Police Command, District of Columbia National Guard on January 1, 1998. As commander, he provides command and control to support civil defense and civil authority, and executes command and control of District of Columbia National Guard emergency operations forces when called to support the District of Columbia.

The General's active military service began in 1970. He was commissioned and assigned to the Signal Corp upon graduation from the University of Houston. Prior to this assignment, General Lawrence served as the S-3, 260th Military Police Command, Commandant, Headquarter and Headquarter Detachment District of Columbia Area Command, District of Columbia Military Academy and most recently, as the Commander, 260th Regiment Regional Training Institute, all with the District of Columbia Army National Guard.
