BRIGADIER GENERAL HUGH J. HALL

Brigadier General Hugh J. Hall assumed duties as Deputy Commander of the 49th Armored Division, Texas Army National Guard, Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas on 3 October 1998. As Deputy Commander, he is responsible for assisting in the command, control, and supervision of the 49th Armored Division with emphasis on combat support and combat service support units.

Brigadier General Hall began his military service by enlisting in the United States Army on 27 November 1961 through 24 May 1968. While on active duty he served with the 2d Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas; 155th Assault Helicopter Company, 52d Aviation Battalion, Republic of South Vietnam; and Transportation School, Fort Eustis, Virginia. He enlisted in the Florida National Guard on 3 August 1968 and transferred to the Texas Army National Guard in April 1972. Brigadier General Hall was commissioned as a 2d Lieutenant receiving a direct commission. He earned the commission through his combat leadership experience gained while in Vietnam.
