Major General George A. Buskirk, Jr. assumed the position of The Adjutant General of Indiana on 5 November 2001. As The Adjutant General, his primary focus is to lead the Indiana Army and Air National Guard.

Major General Buskirk began his career when he was directly appointed in January 1978 as a First Lieutenant in the Indiana Army National Guard. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Assistant Adjutant General (Army), Headquarters (-) State Area Command, and recently he has fulfilled tasks such as President of the Indiana War Memorial Commission.
