MAJOR GENERAL FREDERIC J. RAYMOND

 

Deputy Commanding General (ARNG), U. S. Army Forces Command

Major General Frederic Raymond assumed the duties as Deputy Commanding General (DCG) (ARNG) at U. S. Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Georgia on November 1, 1999. As DCG, he assists the Commanding General in the execution of command and training oversight for Army National units. Oversee the management of training Army National soldiers and units through the chain of command. Advise the Commanding General on the implementation of Army training support strategy and value added of operations conducted by the Army National Guard force. Review Army National Guard to fill CINC operational requirements.

The General was commissioned an infantry officer following completion of Officer Candidate School at Ft Benning. He was then assigned to the 1/327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam where he served 18 months as a rifle platoon leader, reconnaissance platoon leader, and rifle company commander. He has also completed multiple assignments in the 53rd Separate Infantry Brigade of the Florida National Guard. Commanded the 53rd SIB for five years. Prior to his current position, he served as the DCG (RC) First United States Army (North).
