MAJOR GENERAL REGINALD A. CENTRACCHIO

Major General Reginald A. Centracchio assumed duties as The Adjutant General of Rhode Island, and Commanding General of the Rhode Island National Guard, on 1 August 1995. As The Adjutant General, he directs the establishment, organization an maintenance of the military forces of the State, comprised of units of the Army and Air National Guard, which are reserve components of the United States Army and Air Force, and the State Militia.

The General's active military service began in September 1957. He was commissioned an Air Defense officer following Officer Candidate School. Major General Reginald A. Centracchio, was in the USAR Control Group (Retired Reserve), August 92-August 95, until being appointed by the Governor of Rhode Island to serve as The Adjutant General. Prior to that he served as the Director of Plans, Operations and Training, Headquarters, State Area Command, Rhode Island Army National. In that capacity he served as principal staff officer and primary advisor to the Chief of Staff and Adjutant General for all matters pertaining to military organization, force structure, force training, readiness and mobilization, multi-service contingency planning and execution, joint military operations and training activities, and support to civil authorities.
