BRIGADIER GENERAL GEORGE H. DOWNS

Brig. Gen. George H.H. Downs is the Mobilization Assistant to the Director for Operations, Headquarters, United States Indo–Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. He is the deputy military operations advisor to the Commander, USINDOPACOM for joint/combined military operations and training. In this position, he monitors the disposition of readiness of assigned U.S. forces and allies, conducts joint/combined training, and recommends employment options during crisis or contingency.

Brig. Gen. Downs was commissioned in 1999 as a Distinguished Graduate from the University of Illinois Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School and is a command pilot with more than 2,500 flying hours in the T-37, T-38, and F-15A/C/D. He has flown missions in support of Operations NOBLE EAGLE, SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, and ATLANTIC RESOLVE. Prior to his current position, Brig. Gen. Downs was the Director of Strategic Plans and Requirements, Florida Air National Guard, Saint Francis Barracks, Saint Augustine, Florida.
