BRIGADIER GENERAL GREGORY A. KRANE
Brigadier General Gregory A. Krane serves as the Deputy Director for Politico-Military Affairs (Western Hemisphere), Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate (J5), Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. His portfolio includes political and military matters in the Americas and policy issues associated with Homeland Defense, Defense Support of Civil Authorities, and Counter-Narcotics. He provides policy recommendations to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff through close coordination with the National Security Council, Department of State, Office of the Secretary of Defense, U.S. Southern Command and U.S. Northern Command.
Brig Gen Krane received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in June 1996. He is a senior air battle manager with more than 25 years of operational experience in the Air Operations Center, the Battle Control Center, and Airborne Warning and Control System. He has filled critical leadership positions at the Major Command, Numbered Air Force, Group, and Squadron levels, to include Commander, 601 Air Operations Center. Brig Gen Krane has participated in several worldwide theater operations to include Operations NOBLE EAGLE, NORTHERN WATCH, and ALLIED FORCE. Prior to his current assignment he was the Deputy Director of Plans and Execution, National Guard Bureau A3/10, Washington, D.C.
