CIVILIAN OCCUPATION
Registered Professional Civil Engineer and Assistant Vice President & Heavy Highway Division Manager, Heavy Constructors, Inc., Rapid City, SD. Has overall responsibility for managing client and owner expectations, the construction schedule, construction personnel, equipment, subcontractors, purchasing, hiring, and contracts for three of the company’s five divisions with an average annual construction volume of $25 million dollars. During the peak of the construction season responsible for a staff of 125 to 175 personnel. The first of the three divisions is the utilities and grading division which includes the installation of water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer lines and earthwork projects of less than 250,000 cubic yard of excavation. The second division is the bridge division which includes the construction of highway, city, and county road bridge projects as well as the construction of large, suspended concrete structures that include parking ramps and other large concrete structures. The third division is the concrete paving division which includes the construction of concrete interstates, interchanges, and multiple lane city street projects. Additionally, responsible for all professional engineering designs and safety requirements for the company as the only Registered Professional Engineer within the organization.
