BRIGADIER GENERAL CATHERINE M. JUMPER

 
Official Photo Brig. Gen. Catherine M. Jumper serves as the Chief of Staff of the Virginia Air National Guard, Joint Force Headquarters, Richmond, Virginia. Her responsibilities include leading 1,250 Virginia National Guard Airman in the execution of federal and state missions including F-22 Air Dominance, global intelligence operations, cyber operations, civil engineering (RED HORSE), and Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Nuclear, and Explosive Response Force Package (CERFP). She is the primary advisor to the Adjutant General of Virginia on all Air National Guard State and Federal matters. In addition, General Jumper serves as the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, Air Force Sustainment Center, Air Force Material Command, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. She is the senior Air National Guard and Total Force advisor on matters relating to end-to-end life-cycle sustainment and logistics for aircraft, missiles, propulsion systems, aerospace commodities, and weapons system software to preserve Department of Defense warfighting readiness.

General Jumper earned her commission as a Distinguished Graduate of the University of Virginia’s ROTC program in 1995. She has served equal time in all three components of the Total Force, including leading deployed teams supporting both Operations SOUTHERN and NORTHERN WATCH and launching the first Operation NOBLE EAGLE sorties after the 2001 terrorist attacks. She has commanded at both the Squadron and Group levels and served in various positions at the Wing, Major Command and Headquarters levels. Her notable staff assignments include Secretary of the Air Force Congressional Liaison Officer, and F-15/F-16 Weapons System Team Chief, Air Combat Command. Prior to her current assignment, Brigadier General Jumper served as J3, Director of Operations, Joint Staff, Virginia National Guard, serving as the primary advisor to the Adjutant General and Director of the Joint Staff for operational matters.
