BRIGADIER GENERAL LEON J. DODROE
Retired
Brig. Gen. Leon J. Dodroe is the Commander, Assistant Adjutant General, Arkansas Air National Guard, Camp Joseph T. Robinson, North Little Rock, Ark. He is the principle advisor to the Adjutant General for all Arkansas Air National Guard matters. He commands over 2,100 Airmen across two Wings and geographical separated units, providing ready Airmen for ongoing global military operations and response to domestic emergencies for the Governor of Arkansas.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1993 and served with the 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Ga. In 1995, he was selected for pilot training and received his commission through Officer Candidate School. Upon completion of flight school in 1996, he was assigned as the Fixed Wing Platoon Leader for the Southern European Task Force at Vicenza, Italy. He has also served in the Arizona Army National Guard, and the U.S. Army Reserve, holding numerous leadership positions before joining the Arizona Air National Guard in 2010.
He has served in command at the platoon, company, squadron, group, and wing level and has supported operations Joint Guard, Allied Force, Northern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Resolute Support, New Dawn, Nomad Shadow, and Freedom’s Sentinel. Prior to assuming his current position, he commanded the 188th Wing, Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Fort Smith, Ark.
