Brigadier
General Richard D. Radtke is the mobilization assistant to the director of Plans,
Headquarters North American Aerospace Defense Command, Peterson Air Force Base,
Colo. In this capacity, he advises the director and senior operations staff
on reserve component issues as well as represents the director in planning for
the safeguarding of the air sovereignty of North America to include programming
the development, employment, and sustainment of Canadian, United States Air
Force, United States Navy, United States Army, and United States Marine Corps
forces at contingency and wartime bases.
The general began his military career by receiving his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1973. He was assigned to the 50th Tactical Fighter Wing, Hahn Air Base, Germany. General Radtke was then assigned to the 51st Composite Tactical Fighter Wing, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea. Upon separation from active duty, he joined the 150th Tactical Fighter Group, New Mexico Air National Guard, in December 1980. In service to the Air National Guard, he has served as the Air National Guard Liaison to the Air Combat Command Inspector General, Langley Air Force Base and battle commander at Continental North American Aerospace Defense Command (CONR), Tyndall Air Force Base. Prior to being selected as the assistant adjutant general for Air, General Radtke served as the vice commander of the 150th Fighter Wing. He has been both a William Tell and a Gunsmoke member. He is a command pilot with more than 5,300 flying hours.
