BRIGADIER GENERAL TONI M. LORD

Brig. Gen. Toni Lord served as the Chief of Staff at Joint Force Headquarters Virginia as well as Air Component Commander of the Virginia Air National Guard. Her responsibilities included leading more than 1,300 Virginia National Guard Airman to train and execute defense and support to the Commonwealth of Virginia, F-22 air dominance, worldwide intelligence operations, aviation weather support, cyber protection, global supply chain management, RED HORSE operations, medical readiness, CERFP and base operating services missions. She set organizational goals and empowers commanders to execute their respective plans, programs and missions. She analyzed and evaluated training programs and operational readiness levels to determine mission capability and unit effectiveness. She is the primary advisor to the Adjutant General of Virginia on all Air National Guard State and Federal issues.
General Lord has served over 39 years in both the active duty and National Guard, with experience as a commissioned officer and enlisted member in both the Army and Air components. From a joint perspective, she was the Chief of Workforce Management for United States Joint Forces Command’s Joint Warfighting Center. Her broad background includes years of civilian service as the Director of Facilities and Operations for Richmond International Airport, Executive Director for the Forces Surveillance Support Center for an international counter-narcotics program, and Deputy Station Manager for Wallops Command and Data Acquistion Station overseeing the operations and maintenance for on time delivery of satellite, command, and environmental data to ensure global data access from space. General Lord has also held squadron and group command, as well as multiple key staff assignments.
