MAJOR GENERAL MARK A. WEBER

Maj Gen Mark Weber is Special Assistant to the Director of the Air National Guard. In this capacity, he assists the Director in formulating, developing, and coordinating all policies, plans and programs affecting 108,400 Air National Guard Airmen and civilians across 90 wings and 180 installations in 159 communities throughout the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and Virgin Islands. He also serves as Deputy, Combined Forces Air Component Commander for 1st Air Force (U.S. Air Forces Northern and U.S. Air Forces Space), Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. At 1st Air Force, he is responsible for assisting in air defense and air sovereignty operations in the continental United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, supporting the deployment , sustainment and redeployment of U.S. Forces in support of U.S. Northern Command and U.S. Space Command; providing Defense Support of Civil Authorities; executing Theater Security Cooperation with partner nations; and planning and executing contingency support operations for NASA human space flight programs.

General Weber earned his commission from the Air National Guard's Academy of Military Science, Officer Training Program, at McGhee-Tyson Air Base, Knoxville, Tennessee in April 1992. Over his career, General Weber has gained command experience serving at the squadron, group, wing, state level, and been assigned to an array of national level positions. His aviation service includes more than 4,000 flying hours in a variety of aircraft. His career includes deployments to Operation's PROVIDE PROMISE, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, ALLIES REFUGE and ALLIES WELCOME.

Prior to his current position, the general was the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
