BRIGADIER GENERAL GREGG A. PEREZ

Brig. Gen. Gregg A. Perez serves as the Chief of Staff for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He is the primary advisor to the Deputy Adjutant General -Air on all matters pertaining to air operations of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He supports the overall operational readiness of the 4,100 assigned members ensuring that they are trained and equipped to successfully accomplish state, federal, and global operational missions. He is also the Air National Guard Advisor to the Commander of the USAF Expeditionary Center. In this unique ‘Dual-Hat’ position, General Perez provides critical insight, support, and advisement to the Commander responsible for over 14,000 airmen supporting contingency and global mission support operations.

General Perez graduated from Officer Training School and was commissioned in 1987. He then attended Undergraduate Navigator Training at Mather AFB, California with his first operational assignment as a KC-135R navigator assigned to the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. In 1992, he joined the Pennsylvania Air National Guard as a member of the 112th Air Refueling Group. In 1997, General Perez attended Undergraduate Pilot Training at Columbus AFB, Mississippi and returned to the 171st Air Refueling Wing as a KC-135E/R pilot. General Perez has held the position of Commander of the 146th Air Refueling Squadron and Vice Wing Commander and Wing Commander of the 171st Air Refueling Wing. He has deployed in numerous operations to include Desert Shield/Storm, Allied Force, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Noble Eagle, and Unified Protector.
