MAJOR GENERAL KEITH G. MACDONALD

 
Official Photo Maj. Gen. Keith G. MacDonald is the Commander, Air National Guard Readiness Center, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. He leads an Air Directorate staff of over 1,200 airmen to formulate plans, policies, programs, and execution of the Air National Guard's $11 billion annual appropriation enabling the mission readiness of 108,100 military and civilian personnel in 90 Wings and 175 geographically separated units throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. General MacDonald is a principal advisor to the Director, Air National Guard for field level resourcing, planning, and execution.

General MacDonald was commissioned in 1991 as a distinguished graduate from the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Miami University of Ohio. Following undergraduate pilot training where he was a
distinguished graduate in 1993, he flew the A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft on active duty for nine years. General MacDonald joined the Air National Guard in 2001, where he flew the A-10 as an instructor combat search and rescue pilot.

He deployed to the U.S. Central Command Joint Operations Center and has also flown combat sorties in Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM. General MacDonald has served in various operational and staff assignments. Previous to this assignment, he served as the Director, Air National Guard Operations, National Guard Bureau A3/10. He served in a joint assignment as Senior Policy Development Analyst, Homeland Defense & Americas' Security Affairs, Office of Secretary of Defense. He has also served as Vice Commander, Air National Guard Readiness Center, and Commander, 201st Mission Support Squadron, JB Andrews, Md. General MacDonald is a command pilot with over 2,900 flying hours, including 150 combat hours.
