BRIGADIER GENERAL DARWIN L. CRAIG

Brig. Gen. Craig serves as the Director, Joint Staff, Utah National Guard, Draper, Utah. He is responsible to The Adjutant General to prepare the Utah National Guard to effectively respond to contingency operations in a federal or state emergency. General Craig also serves as the Designated Dual Status Commander, Joint Forces Headquarters-Utah. He has oversight responsibilities for the joint staff as well as Family Programs, Counter Drug Taskforce, Human Resource Office, and other fulltime joint activities. He advises The Adjutant General on all issues and policies relating to Defense Support to Civil Authorities.

General Craig earned his commission from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Utah in 1989. He has served in a variety of command, operational, and staff positions including Deputy Director, Joint Staff and the 151st Air Refueling Wing Commander. He flew two Homeland Defense air refueling missions on 9/11 in response to the terrorist attacks against the United States. General Craig served as the deployed Detachment Commander to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom in 2009. He is a command pilot with more than 4100 flying hours in the KC-135 Stratotanker, KC-10A Extender, C-12 Huron, T-38 Talon, and T-37 Tweet.
