BRIGADIER GENERAL ANDREW J. THOMPSON IV
Brigadier General Andrew J. Thompson IV is the assistant adjutant general for Air and serves in the capacity of commander, Arkansas Air National Guard, located on Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark.
He is responsible for the tactical employment, administration, and training of the Air National Guard units.
He began his military career in 1970 when he joined the U.S. Air Force as an officer trainee. He completed Officer Training School as a distinguished graduate and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant.
In 1994 he became the first traditional guardsman to serve as vice commander of the 189th Airlift Wing.
General Thompson is a command pilot with more than 4,400 flying hours.
