CIVILIAN OCCUPATION
Major General Jaime A. Areizaga served as Chairman of the Board of Veterans' Appeals from August 2022 until his mobilization in January 2025. As Chairman, he led a team of 1,400 Board personnel, including more than 130 Veterans Law Judges, 1,100 attorneys, and 200 support staff. The Board fully considers and resolves final decisions on Veterans' appeals for benefits and services from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
