MAJOR GENERAL FRED E. ELLIS
Major General Fred E. Ellis is the Air National Guard assistant to the director of communications and information, Headquarters United States Air
Force (Hq USAF/SC). He reviews proposals and makes recommendations to Hq USAF/SC on matters relating to USAF/ANG policy, plans, structure, force mix, management, budget, and mobilization of ANG units.
He also monitors training and readiness of ANG units and maintains continuing liaison with the senior staffs of the AF/SC and the director, Air National Guard.
The general began his military career by receiving a commission through Officers Training School in 1968.
While on active duty he served in a number of positions as an electronic engineer in the engineering and installations community.
The general joined the Texas Air National Guard in 1972 and during the following seven years he served in a number of positions.
