Brigadier General Fermin A. Rubio
Brigadier General Fermin A. Rubio serves as the Assistant Adjutant General - Air, New Mexico Air National Guard, on 22 December 2015. As the Assistant Adjutant General - Air, he serves as senior military advisor to the Adjutant General and is responsible for providing the State of New Mexico and the United States with a ready force of citizen airmen. He directs, manages and supervises the administration, discipline, organization, training and mobilization of the New Mexico Air National Guard. The Assistant Adjutant General – Air ensures the organization is equipped and trained to respond to any domestic disaster or combat contingency.
General Rubio entered active duty in 1990 as a naval Judge Advocate. He separated from active duty in 1994, but remained affiliated with the Naval Reserve. General Rubio was commissioned in the Air Force Reserve in 1997. He joined the New Mexico Air National Guard in 2006, serving as the State Judge Advocate until 2015.
