Brigadier General Charles G. Stevenson

Brigadier General Charles Stevenson was the Deputy Commander, Joint Task Force Guantanamo.  As Deputy Commander, he was the principal advisor to the Commander and is charged with conducting safe, humane, legal, and transparent care and custody of law of war detainees, and support for military commission proceedings.  The Joint Task Force is comprised of approximately 1,600 personnel.

General Stevenson enlisted as a traditional guardsman in the Alaska Air National Guard in July 1992.  He was directly commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1993 after attending the Academy of Military Science at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in Knoxville, Tennessee. General Stevenson served in a variety of command and staff positions in different wings. He has commanded at the group level and has served as a vice wing commander.  Prior to assuming his current duties, General Stevenson was a Senior Official Inquiry Officer for the Secretary of the Air Force Inspector General.
