MAJOR GENERAL DAVID B. BURGY

Major General David B. Burgy was the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, Pacific Air Forces, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Pacific Air Force was responsible for Air Force activities spread over half the globe in a command that supports 45,000 Airmen serving principally in Japan, Korea, Hawaii, Alaska and Guam.
General Burgy entered the United States Air Force in 1987 after earning a commission thru the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Arizona State University. Following graduation from Undergraduate Pilot Training in 1988 at Vance AFB, Oklahoma, he remained at Vance as a T-37 Instructor Pilot. General Burgy transitioned to the Oklahoma Air National Guard in 1993. The general was a command pilot with more than 3,800 hours in the T-37, T-38, C-26, and the F-16 and commanded at the Group and Wing level. He has flown combat missions in support of operations Northern Watch and Iraqi Freedom.
Prior to his former assignment, Major General Burgy served as the Chief of Staff and Air Component Commander of the Oklahoma Air National Guard and was dual-hatted as the Air National Guard Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington D.C.
He was a citizen airmen, the general is a pilot with a major airline where he flies the Boeing 777 in routes throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Asia Pacific.
