Brigadier General David P. Baczewski
Brig. Gen. David P. Baczewski is currently assigned to Stuttgart Germany as the Deputy Director of Operations, United States European Command. General Baczewski is responsible for the operational preparation and execution of wartime and peacetime operations throughout the European Command area of responsibility to include oversight of the Nuclear Operations Division, Ballistic Missile Defense, Information Operations and Special Activities, and Antiterrorism Force Protection measures.
General Baczewski received his commission in 1988 after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy at which time he attended Undergraduate Flight Training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. General Baczewski remained at Sheppard Air Force Base as a T-37 Instructor Pilot until October of 1993. He completed F-16 training at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona and the following year was assigned to Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. Additional tours took him to Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea and Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. General Baczewski entered the Vermont Air National Guard in June of 2002 and has served within the 134th Fighter Squadron as the Weapons Officer, Operations Officer, and Squadron Commander. In February of 2007, he was chosen as the Director of Staff - Air within the Joint Forces Headquarters at Camp Johnson, Vermont. He then returned to the 158th Fighter Wing serving as the 158th Operations Group Commander and then as the 158th Fighter Wing Commander. General Baczewski's most recent assignment was as the Executive Officer to the Deputy Commander, United States Northern Command.
