Assistant Adjutant General - Air, Washington
Brigadier General John S. Tuohy is the Assistant Adjutant General - Air, Washington, and also serves as Commander, Washington Air National Guard. He is responsible to The Adjutant General for directing, coordinating and controlling activities of 34 assigned units and the 2,100 authorized Air National Guard personnel assigned to those units. General Tuohy is responsible to prepare, implement and administer plans, policies and programs to effectively organize, staff, equip and train units for state and federal mobilization.
General Tuohy was commissioned in the United States Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corps as a Distinguished Graduate in 1978. He has been assigned to numerous operational, command and staff positions, including B-52 Electronic Warfare Officer, Air Liaison Officer, Squadron Commander, Human Resources Officer-Washington, Joint Forces Headquarters-Washington, Chief of Staff, Wing Commander, and United States Property and Fiscal Officer-Washington.
