BRIGADIER GENERAL CLARENCE ERVIN

Brig. Gen. Clarence Ervin served as the Chief of Staff for the North Carolina Air National Guard. He was responsible for oversight of all Air Guard personnel at the North Carolina Joint Force Headquarters. Gen. Ervin coordinates support functions between the Joint Force Headquarters and the 145th Airlift Wing. Other duties include advising the Adjutant General on mentorship and leadership programs, assisting in the development of expanded military operations and assisting in the development of new missions appropriate for the North Carolina National Guard.

Gen. Ervin was commissioned through the Academy of Military Science in 1988.  Prior to receiving his commission he served as an enlisted member of the United States Air Force and later in the North Carolina Air National Guard.  Gen. Ervin has spent over 30 years in the North Carolina Air National Guard. A career Force Support Officer, he has commanded a flight and led the largest Group in the North Carolina Air Guard as the Commander of 145th Mission Support Group. Gen. Ervin has deployed in support of Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Jump Start. Prior to his current position Gen. Ervin was the Assistant Adjutant General, Joint Force Headquarters, North Carolina Air National Guard, Raleigh, North Carolina.
