MAJOR GENERAL DAVID P. SAN CLEMENTE

Maj. Gen. David P. San Clemente served as the senior Air National Guard advisor to Air Force Special Operations Command, providing insight and advice on the planning and integration for the command's ANG personnel as well as direct access to senior National Guard leadership. AFSOC provides Air Force Special Operations Forces for worldwide deployment and assignment to regional unified commands. The command's SOF are composed of highly-trained, rapidly-deployable Airmen, conducting global special operations missions ranging from precision application of firepower to infiltration, exfiltration, resupply and refueling of special operations forces operational elements.
A native of Shrewsbury, Mass., General San Clemente earned his commission and Bachelors of Science degree in Human Factors Engineering at the United States Air Force Academy in 1988. General San Clemente has served as a Chief of Safety and Chief of Standards and Evaluations at the Squadron, Group, Wing and Numbered Air Force levels. He has commanded at the Squadron, Group and Wing level, both at home station and in combat. General San Clemente has also served as the ANG Advisor to the Commander, AFSOC, as well as Deputy Director, Strategy, Plans and Programs Directorate, U.S. Africa Command. General San Clemente has deployed in support of numerous operations including Operations Southern Watch, Joint Endeavor, Allied Force, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Odyssey Dawn. He was a command pilot with over 388 combat hours and 3,700 total hours in the A/OA-10/A/C, OV-10A, RC-26B, T-37B, and T-38A aircraft. Prior to his current assignment, General San Clemente served as Senior Defense Official - Defense Attache - Chief, Office of Military Cooperation, U.S. Embassy, Kuwait City, Kuwait.
