Major General Jesse T. Simmons Jr
Maj. Gen. Jesse T. Simmons, Jr. was the Assistant Adjutant General - Air, Georgia National Guard. His duties and responsibilities include direct supervision of the Georgia State Air Guard staff, and command of 2,877 Georgia Air National Guard members serving in two flying wings, seven geographically separated units and the Air Dominance Center.
General Simmons was commissioned in 1985 through the Officer Training School program at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He completed undergraduate pilot training at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi and C-130 initial qualification training at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. He commanded at squadron, group, and wing levels, and served as Commander, 774th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, Karshi-Khanabad Air Base, Uzbekistan in 2005 and Deputy Commander, 455th Expeditionary Operations Group, Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, in 2009. General Simmons is a command pilot with more than 4,900 flying hours in the T-37, T-38, and C-130E/H/H2, including 96 combat missions in Southwest Asia and 140 combat support missions in South America and Southwest Asia
