Land Component Commander - Army, Idaho
Brigadier General Robert K. Lytle assumed the duties as the Land Component Commander on November 2013. In this position, he serves as the Major Subordinate Command authority for all Table of Distribution and Allowance (TDA) units within the State. He is responsible for assisting the Assistant Adjutant General-Army in commanding and directing the administration, coordination, planning, execution, and supervision of all Idaho National Guard TDA Units.
General Lytle graduated from the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, in Charleston and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in 1982. He deployed to Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm as a Captain with the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing as the embedded Ground Liaison Officer. He deployed to Iraq as a Lieutenant Colonel as the Executive Officer of the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team.
