BRIGADIER GENERAL IVAN E. DENTON

Brigadier General Ivan E. Denton serves as the Director of Manpower and Personnel, (J-1), National Guard Bureau, Washington, District of Columbia. He is responsible for the strategic direction and integration of all National Guard Bureau personnel and manpower programs and policies for the Chief, National Guard Bureau.

General Denton was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program on May 9th, 1986. He spent four years on Active Duty, where he deployed to Korea and served in combat during Operation Just Cause. He transitioned to the Indiana Army National Guard in 1990. He commanded at all levels, to include combat commands at the battalion level in Operation Iraqi Freedom and at the brigade level in Operation New Dawn. General Denton served as the Commander of Camp Atterbury, Joint Maneuver Training Center in his previous assignment.
