BRIGADIER GENERAL PETER J. SIANA

Brigadier General Peter J. Siana is Chief of Staff, Connecticut Air National Guard. He is responsible for the integration, management and coordination of military operations involving Air National Guard units in Connecticut, to include an Airlift Wing and Air Control Squadron. General Siana also oversees the development and validation of state Air National Guard emergency response plans. He is a senior advisor to the Adjutant General regarding the status of and resourcing for units tasked with federal or state military support to civil authority requirements. General Siana also serves as National Co-Chairman for the United States Air Force's Airspace and Range Council.

General Siana was commissioned in the United States Air Force in 1989 through Officer Training School. He completed Undergraduate Pilot Training and the A-10A Operational Training Course in 1990. General Siana served on active duty for more than nine years primarily in operational assignments as an A/OA-10 Instructor Pilot and Flight Examiner at the squadron and group level. Following his career in the United States Air Force, he joined the Connecticut Air National Guard in 1998. Prior to his current assignment, General Siana was State Director of Operations. In addition, he has served in various flying and operational assignments as well as command positions as a member of the Connecticut Air National Guard. General Siana is a command pilot with 157 combat missions and over 4,000 total flight hours primarily in the A/OA-10 aircraft. He has deployed for Operations DESERT STORM, PROVIDE COMFORT, DENY FLIGHT, SOUTHERN WATCH and IRAQI FREEDOM.
