Assistant Adjutant General - Air, California Air National Guard
Brigadier General Nathaniel S. Reddicks currently serves as an Assistant Adjutant General for the California Air National Guard. He is responsible for administrative support and operational oversight of five major field-level organizations comprised of nearly 5,000 military and civilian personnel serving at ten locations within California. In this capacity, General Reddicks serves as one of the senior Air National Guard officers responsible for providing trained, equipped and mission-ready forces to support national defense requirements world-wide and emergency response, relief, and recovery operations throughout California.
General Reddicks was commissioned in 1980 through the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science. Prior to receiving his commission, General Reddicks served as an enlisted member of the California Air National Guard. After the terrorist attacks of 9/11 General Reddicks served as Deputy Commander, Joint Task Force (South), OPERATION AEROSAFE from October 2001 until June 2002 and was responsible for the security of 15 Southern California airports. In January of 2004, General Reddicks was named Commander of the 146th Mission Support Group. General Reddicks deployed to Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and was part of the first Garrison Commander Training Team charged with training Commanders and key Logistics/Staff officers of the newly forming Iraq Armed Forces. Upon his return stateside, he provided key leadership to the 146AW during their critical inspection cycle, after which, in January 2006, he was assigned as the Mission Support Group Commander with the 163d Air Refueling Wing - the first Air National Guard Wing transitioning to the Predator Mission. During OPERATION JUMP START, the 2-year deployment of the National Guard to the southwest border; General Reddicks served one year as Commander of the California contingent. In September 2009, General Reddicks was selected to be the Deputy Chief of Staff for the California Joint Staff, followed by a transitional stint as Chief of Staff, Air Division, with subsequent appointment to his current position.
