Brigadier General Dana L. McDaniel is Commander, Land Component Command, Ohio Army National Guard. He also serves as Commander, 73rd Troop Command and Commander, Homeland Response Force - Ohio.
General McDaniel received his commission from the Ohio National Guard's Officer Candidate State Program in 1984. Prior to receiving his commission, General McDaniel served as an enlisted member of Company D, 372nd Engineer Battalion, Ohio Army National Guard. He has commanded at the platoon, company, battalion, regiment and brigade levels while serving in staff assignments at the company, battalion, group, brigade and Joint Force Headquarters levels. In 2005-2006, General McDaniel deployed as Design Engineer, 16th Engineer Brigade in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, 4th Infantry Division and Multi-National Division-Baghdad.
