BRIGADIER GENERAL PAUL D. GRUVER

 

Director, Joint Staff, Washington Joint Force Headquarters

Brigadier General Paul D. Gruver is Director, Joint Staff, Washington Joint Force Headquarters, Washington National Guard, Camp Murray, Washington. He is responsible to the Adjutant General for oversight on all Joint Staff matters and is responsible for preparing, implementing and administering plans, policies and programs to ensure successful operational missions and effective utilization of Washington National Guard forces.

General Gruver was commissioned in 1979 through the Reserve Officer Training Corp program at the University of Washington. His operational experience includes positions held as Weapons and Tactics Officer, Operations Flight Commander, Operations Group Commander, Vice Wing Commander and Western Air Defense Sector Commander. His deployed command experience includes Operation Coronet Nighthawk, Panama and Operation Southern Watch, Saudi Arabia. General Gruver assumed his current position in March 2011. He is a Command Pilot with more than 3,800 hours of flying time in the T-37, T-38, and F-16A/B/ADF/C/D aircraft.
