BRIGADIER GENERAL DAVID E. DEPUTY

 

Chief of Staff, Delaware Air National Guard

Brigadier General David E. Deputy is Chief of Staff, Delaware Air National Guard. He serves as the principle advisor to the Commander of the Delaware Air National Guard for all Air National Guard issues. Furthermore, he is responsible for providing trained, equipped and mission ready forces in support of federal mobilization requirements and state emergency operations. General Deputy develops plans, programs and policies in support of the Delaware C-130 Wing's mission to include tactical airlift, air and land drop of troops, cargo, passengers, aeromedical evacuation of patients worldwide, civil engineering and network warfare. General Deputy maintains liaison with major commands and the National Guard Bureau.

General Deputy received his commission through the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science in 1984 graduating as a Distinguished Graduate. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom having served as the Director of Staff, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Southwest Asia. This composite wing included strike; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; mobility aeromedical evacuation; and command and control assets in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. This wing provided support to more than 11,000 Air Force, joint and coalition forces. Prior to receiving his commission, General Deputy served as an enlisted member of the 166th Security Forces Squadron of the Delaware Air National Guard.
