Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Illinois
Brigadier General Alicia A. Tate-Nadeau assumed duties as Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Illinois National Guard in February, 2015. She serves as a principal advisor to the Adjutant General and is responsible for assisting the Adjutant General in formulating, developing and coordinating programs, policies and plans affecting the Illinois Army National Guard and its approximate 13,000 Citizen-Soldiers. General Tate-Nadeau represents the Adjutant General and the Illinois Army National Guard in a variety of forums which impacts the readiness of the organization.
General Tate-Nadeau began her military career in May 1986, receiving her commission through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps at the University of Central Oklahoma. She has served in a variety of command, operations, and staff assignments, most recently serving as the National Guard Bureau Liaison Officer to the Israeli Home Front Command, Ramla, Israel. While concurrently serving as the Chief, Weapons of Mass Destruction Domestic Preparedness Division, Army Reserve Command, as well as a core member of the Secretary of Defense's "Tiger Team" and the Concept Analysis Agency, she co-authored the Defense Reform Initiative 25 giving the Reserve Components the primary mission to train and respond to Weapons of Mass Destruction incidents; emerging Weapons of Mass Destruction response doctrine; and evaluated what are known today as National Guard Civil Support Teams (Weapons of Mass Destruction).

Team Leader, Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT), Federal Emergency Management Agency, Region V, Chicago, Illinois. General Tate-Nadeau's team is organized to improve the federal capability to support response, recovery, and mitigation efforts following major incidents or disasters. The team leverages the federal response to disasters by deploying within hours of an incident with a primary role of integrating with state or territorial emergency managers and providing support and coordination across the whole community of federal, state, non-profit, faith-based, and private-sector organizations.
